EPC Controller EVSE Protocol Controller 2.0 with RCM for AC Charger Wallbox
The EVSE Protocol Controller (EPC) is the intelligent part of the our charge points. It is the communication unit that enables Mode 3 charging in accordance with IEC 61851 and it is available to buy for those building their own EVSEs (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) or upgrading/replacing parts in other charge points. EV EPC 2.0 builds on the success of the 1st generation of EVSE controller (EPC). It is the same size DIN rail mounted module designed for IEC 61851 compliant EV charge points, but with more features and configurable options.EV charge points and EVSE controllers are amongst the key charging products that we design and manufacture.
The 35mm wide module can support 1 charging outlet, either a socket outlet or a tethered cable, as well as added electrical safety features that help charge point manufacturers and installers meet regulations in a cost-effective way. Like before, It has an internal status indicator LED and support for an external LED.
Additional Safety Features
DC Sensor / RCM Support (Western Automation RCM14-01 kit supplied as optional extra*) - The EPC 2.0 has support for DC leakage protection and will detect DC currents of 6mA or greater, disabling the charging session and making the equipment safe,
PEN Loss Detection system - The EPC 2.0 has the ability to protect the user in the event of a failure/loss of the PEN conductor in the distribution network The EPC 2.0 will disconnect all live conductors and the protective earth conductor, making the equipment safe until the fault is fixed.

The EPC 2.0 comes as a single stock option, with configurable features listed below selected on a 10 way DIP switch accessed under the lid/front face of the device.
